01 · Fleet

Meters, registers and metering points

A meter alone is not enough. EnergyMatrix models the structure German metering practice actually works with.

Registers, not a single numberHT/NT, consumption and feed-in as separate registers — each with OBIS code, unit, digit count and decimals.
Metering points and market rolesMaLo ID (11 digits) and MeLo ID (33 characters, DE prefix) on the metering point, mapped to property, building and unit.
Calibration periods in viewExpiring calibration becomes a task, not a surprise: checked daily, notified before the deadline.
Status instead of deletionActive, removed, replaced, defective — with time, reason and actor. History stays reportable.
02 · Readings

The reading year as a first-class state

The annual reading counts for 31 December and is taken in a window around it. The platform treats it that way — everywhere identically.

Cut-off 31 Dec, window 25 Nov – 31 JanOne rule, one definition: the same logic in dashboard, meter list and project view. Never two answers to one question.
Coverage per propertyReading coverage per project and building, with a jump into the outstanding meters.
Plausibility before it landsReversals, outliers, duplicates and gaps are flagged. Meter rollover is detected and confirmed by the user.
Correction, not overwriteA reading is never edited. The correction is a new row referencing the old one — auditable years later.
03 · Import

Bring in existing and third-party data

Import is the most common way data arrives — and the most dangerous. So it is reversible.

CSV and XLSX with mappingColumns are mapped automatically and can be corrected before the run.
Dry run with an error listErrors and warnings per row; skip individual rows instead of discarding the file.
Batch rollbackA bad import can be rolled back completely — and the rollback is itself in the audit log.
Meter exchanges as an import typeExchanges can be loaded in bulk, not only captured one by one.
04 · Market communication

Work exceptions down, don't collect them

EnergyMatrix does not replace your market communication system. It takes that system's messages about meter exchanges and readings — and turns whatever does not match on its own into a worklist.

Assign to the meterMatch open messages to the right metering point, with suggestions from your own fleet.
Feedback to your EDI systemAccepted or rejected, per message. Feedback runs through a queue and can be delivered again.
Close with a reasonCases that cannot be matched are filed with a reason rather than deleted.

Reporting comes straight from the captured data — no pre-configuration, no second data store.
